All,

I was just checking the National Moth Week website and noticed that I seem to be the only person or group to have registered a site anywhere in Nova Scotia the Atlantic provinces. I thought there might be others on the nature list who would like to learn more about this event and perhaps register either a public or private event (study site). The date for the survey week is July 23 - 29. Please note that you do not have to be able to identify moth species in order to participate. The organizers have a team of people who will be working on identification of as many species as possible using photos uploaded by participants. The event is being well supported by many sponsors and partners. There is plenty of info about all of the above on the website. I have registered my own site here at Round Hill, so that is the Nova Scotia site that appears on the map as of today. Here is the URL of the National Moth Week site for any who might be interested:

By the way, if you explore the NMW website, there is much interesting info. For example, on this page, a number of people's moth lamp set-ups are described:

If you have questions about any of the above, or about mothing or moth photography, please feel free to email me.
