Hi All

I believe the fish hatchery in Coldbrook NS was harvesting adults (at least
their milt and roe) from fish out of the Nova Scotia Power White Rock
ladder and trap on the Gaspereau River in Kings County NS. At least they
were 6-7 yeears ago when someone I know had a summer job there as a
student. Not sure where that all went but I assume it had something to do
with restoring the Inner Bay of Fundy (IBOF) population.

I also heard a few years ago from an involved BIO biologist that the DFO
was engaged on a project to restore an IBOF run on the nearby Halfway River
between Falmouth and Hantsport from the Gaspereau stock. Apparently the
geology, ecology etc between the two rivers are highly similay. I know
there was some engineering done on the first dam and the ogee spliiway to
facilitate this. Again I'm not sure if, when, or where this eventually
ended up alas.
