This was a moderately strong week for nocturnal migration. The majority of
flight calls this week were recorded from the evening of May 31 to the
morning of June 2.

There were few sparrows and many warblers, the latter dominated by the Zeep
calling warblers of the Genus, Setophaga (formerly Dendroica). Warblers with
this Zeep flight call in Nova Scotia are Yellow, Cape May, Magnolia,
Blackpoll, Bay-breasted, and Blackburnian. When I thought I could reasonably
distinguish one of these species, it is listed separately below. Otherwise
they are lumped into the group Setophaga.

The highlight for me was a Bicknell's Thrush. This species can be hard to
distinguish from the Grey-cheeked Thrush but this one Bicknell's was quite
distinctive both in sound and spectrogram.

The week's summary follows (Evening of May 27 to morning of June 3)
