Birding 27May12, 1600-1800.
We travelled from Kingston to Port George via Marshall Rd.,Melvern Sq., =
hwy221, Ruggles Rd, Victoriavale, Port George, returned the same route.
we saw & heard: Red-winged Blackbird, Eastern Wood Peewee*, Eastern =
Phoebe*, Eastern Kingbird, Yellow Warbler, male,Belted Kingfisher, =
Ovenbird, Northern Parula, Common Grackles, European Starling, A. Robin, =
Ring-necked Pheasant, Tree and Barn Swallows, Mourning Doves, Song =
Sparrows, House Sparrows, Savannah Sparrows, Bobolinks*, Turkey Vulture, =
2 Common Loon, 2 male Harlequin Ducks, 1,Chick and 1,Adult Barred Owl.
* although we saw several of these species: it seemed that we heard more =
than we saw, particularly at the bridge in Melvern Square. We cannot =
recall having seen this pond,(?) at the bridge,in Melvern Sq. with so =
little water in it.
Cheers, Barbara and Pat
