Once again this year the beeches in the Waverley area are in bad shape. Something has attacked the leaves, leaving them stunted, shriveled and with black tips. We had this for the first time that I know of last year, but this year it's worse in that the leaves are much smaller. I suspect that if this keeps up, combined with beech bark disease, it is going to wipe out a lot of the trees within the next few years. Anyone else seen this in other parts of the province? Any thoughts what it is? Peter Payzant
