Between East Point, N. Grand Pre and Horton Landing today, right at high tide, I found two flocks of shorebirds. The one just a little S of East Point consisted of 1 American Golden Plover, 8 Black-bellied Plovers & 3 Short-billed Dowitchers. All of these were photographed and are at the direct link below. R Stern & E Mills have confirmed the Golden Plover for me (much appreciated). I did see the bird fly (no black armpits) but the bird is in transition plumage and not one for me to make the final ID. Just N of Horton Landing I found a flock of 5 Black-bellied Plovers & was able to share them with Jim Wolford & Pat Hawes. http://rickwhitman.smugmug.com/Nature/Birds-April-June-2012/22243788_LGxpGV#!i=1857666402&k=rRcp6pN A special day for me.
