Wendy and I parked in the last = parking lot and walked out along the beach to the left looking for = Piping Plovers and other shorebirds. None were seen. Just past the = first wash out and out on the off shore rocks stood an adult Laughing = Gull (dark mantle, medium sized gull, all black head, large red bill and = white eye ring (or partial eye ring). The bird was a dead ringer to the = illustration in the Nat Geo field guide which I consulted back at the = car. Also seen was a Iceland Gull fly-over. Near the first parking area, just past where the surf was crashing = (quite windy out there!), we had all 3 scoters and a few Gannets were = flying by further out. By way of contrast to Richard's Count, we had ONE (1) warbler species! = It's still very early spring on the Eastern Shore! Our final tally was = 41 species. Cheers, Bob McDonald Halifax ------=_NextPart_000_0035_01CD3069.F5F11810 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META name=3DGENERATOR content=3D"MSHTML 8.00.6001.19222"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial>Hello All,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT size=3D2 face=3DArial>Martinique Beach is our first stop on = my Nova=20 Scotia Migration Count (West Lawrencetown Marsh is the last). = Wendy and=20 I parked in the last parking lot and walked out along the beach to = the left=20 looking for Piping Plovers and other shorebirds.
