Birds are plentiful on Brier Island and this week a number of rose breasted=
grosbeaks have been seen amongst the trees and feeders in the village. LOT=
S of American goldfinches. The cardinals are still very vocal and indigo bu=
ntings are visiting feeders. Chiping sparrows, white throated sparrows, son=
g sparrows, robins, cowbirds=A0can be seen and heard. Along Danny's Road (b=
ehind the schoolhouse up over the hill) I heard one of my favourite songste=
rs, the Hermit thrush. Also heard a yellow warbler. A couple of blue grosbe=
aks were feeding in a yard on Wellington Street. I found a large clump of f=
eathers from a Northern Flicker that must have met its end back on the shor=
e near Cow Cove. Snipes were along the Big Pond last evening. A green heron=
spent three days at a pond in the backyard of a house at the end=A0of=A0Ch=
urch Street (Yvette Small). It has not been seen since yesterday morning.=
