Index of Subjects <html> <body> Made a late morning trek through these woods today. Hoped that the sun had warmed up butterflies & flying insects by that time & it did.<br><br> <u>Birds<br> </u>Rose-breated Grosbeak - 1 singing near the entrance<br> Y/R Warblers - scattered males singing<br> Nashville Warbler - 1 singing (I have difficulty finding this species on Migration Day Count!!).<br> Blue-headed Vireo - 1 singing<br> Except for the Yellow-rumps, most warblers/vireos sing only a few notes this early so hearing one song at a distance is an i.d. challenge!!.<br><br> Would have expected Least Flycatcher, Ovenbird, Waterthrush, by now but no.<br> <br> <u>Butterflies<br> </u>1 Red Admiral<br> 5+ Mustard Whites (a few along the wooded path; others along the RR bed, which to me, seems more their habitat.<br> 1 Juvenal's Duskywing<br> (photos taken).<br><br> <u>Flying Insects<br> </u>Hover flies - specifically "Eristalis transversa".<br> Bee Flies - Greater Bee Fly - "Bombylius major" (Quite a few)<br> Tachinid Flies - a few (not identified).<br> Queen Bee - Bombus impatiens<br> Andrenid bees - unidentified as to species<br> an interesting green-hued fly -have reasonable photos so will try to i.d.<br><br> 1 Little Brown Bat near the large pond at Seven Estates. Usually see one & sometimes more each time I wander through this area.<br><br> Angus</body> </html>
