Eleanor, sounds like you have a female Rose-breasted Grosbeak.

Subject: [NatureNS] Bird ID requested

A bird arrived at my feeders this morning which I am struggling to identify:

Finch type beak, colouring similar to a female purple finch, but paler and
bigger in size. Has a white circlet around top of head, a slight white line
under dark eyes, a faint trace of a white wing bar and a faintly speckled
breast.

I have managed to get several pictures for anyone willing to take a look.

Eleanor Lindsay, (hoping it isn't anything too obvious!)
Seabright, St Margarets Bay
