Add the underground roots of plants, which black and grizzly bears
did up at all times of the year. And of course Paul is correct about
bears being opportunists and omnivores, adapted for getting and
consuming a wide variety of fare, both vegetable and animal.

Cheers from Jim of Wolfville (currently in B.C. for a while, and it's
nice to read the sightings and comments from back home).
