Found adult Northern Gannets streaming northwards, mostly in small groups . Fascinating to watch them. A few came close allowing me to see its black tips. A really good birding day. Cheers Liz ------=_NextPart_000_0015_01CD2061.69F45830 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META content=3D"text/html; charset=3Diso-8859-1" = http-equiv=3DContent-Type> <META name=3DGENERATOR content=3D"MSHTML 8.00.6001.19222"> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY=20 style=3D"WORD-WRAP: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; = -webkit-line-break: after-white-space"=20 bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman">Saturday, April 21, 2011 = =20 </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman"></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman">Eastern Shore</FONT></DIV> <DIV>Petpeswick to Fishermen's Reserve (Three Fathom Harbour)</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman"></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman">1 Grey Jay perching on a rock =20 accompanied by two juncos</FONT></DIV> <DIV>1 Ruffed grouse running across the road like a pheasant</DIV> <DIV>300's Northern Gannets </DIV> <DIV>2 Greater Yellow legs </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman">2 Palm warblers wagging their=20 tails</FONT></DIV> <DIV>1 swamp sparrow</DIV> <DIV>1 Yellow rumped warbler (spring) </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman">1 red breasted nuthatch = </FONT></DIV> <DIV>-- and many other usual birds and recent arrivals like ospreys, = flickers,=20 ring necked ducks</DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman"></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman">The odd thing was the absence = of swallows=20 anywhere. </FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3D"Times New Roman">Found adult Northern Gannets = streaming=20 northwards, mostly in small groups . </FONT><FONT=20 face=3D"Times New Roman">Fascinating to watch them.
