We have had "holes" in our lawn over the past few years and I attribute it
to a species of moles which are quite large and have very long claws. I
don't know exactly what variety they are but could possibly be the "Star-
nosed" Mole which is a rather strange looking creature. I have actually
seen one (back to) after it made a hole next to my dogs outdoor pen and sat
there for a few minutes ( this was just at daylight). The experts on the
list will have to give the proper information as I don't know much about
them.
