check the Petitcodiac River Tidal Bore at Bore Park. A bore arrival
schedule has already been distributed to Nature Moncton members on the
daily mailing list. n Friday, Apeil 16 the MOON [Lune] went into its Full
Phase meaning it will meaning that we will see it all night on clear nights=
.

On Friday, April 13, the Moon will go into its last quarter phase, meaning
that it will not rise until midnight and will set at noon.

The BIG DIPPER [Grande Ourse], high in the NE, dumps water into the dim
LITTLE DIPPER during evening at this time of year.

On Saturday, April 7, the SUN [Soleil] rose at 6:51 a.m. and will set at
7:59 p.m. On Saturday, March 31, it rose at 7:04 a.m. and will set at 7:50
p.m. On Saturday, April 14, the SUN [Soleil] will rise at 6:39 a.m. and set
at 8:08 p.m.

*
This Week's Planet Roundup:*

MERCURY [Mercure] is deep in the glow of sunrise.

VENUS [V=E9nus], at magnitude -4.6, climbs very high and ever more brillian=
t
in the west during and after twilight. It doesn't set now until 2.5 hours
after dark. This just about as high and bright as Venus ever becomes in its
8-year cycle of apparitions.

MARS, at magnitude -0.7, shines bright fire-orange high in the south-east
at nightfall, and la highest in the south by mid-evening. REGULUS is just
4.5=B0 to the right of Mars, in the evening.

JUPITER is sinking ever lower, towards the sunset, far below Venus. Jupiter
appears increasingly fuzzy at 14=B0 below it on March 30th and 19=B0 below=
 it
on April 6th. These are the two brightest celestial objects after the Sun
and Moon, being magnitudes -4.5 and -2.1 right now, respectively.

SATURN [Saturne]. at magnitude +0.2, is in opposition [to the sun] on April
15. This week it rises around sunset and stands highest in the south
around 2 a.m. Shining 5.5=B0 to Saturn's right is SPICA, fainter and bluer=
.
Saturn's rings continue to be clearly visible, using a birding scope on
clear nights.
