Index of Subjects Hello Andy: Happy Easter to you and yours! Stella's Pond is on the east side of the connector road between Belcher St and Commercial St, west end of New Minas, leading to Hwy 101. Heading north this road joins Middle Dyke Rd. The pond is set in the bend of the Cornwallis River so offers plenty of appeal to waterfowl, and Ducks Unlimited have had a hand in its upkeep. It is a name that Jim Wolford researched for easier pond location purposes (Jim likes 'birdy' locations to be easily identified). He found out that 'Stella" was an old name for the pond, and it has come in handy. No-one seems to know who Stella was though :-) Evidently you are enjoying good, or at least reasonably health, which is great to see, as I note from your reports that you are getting around. Have enjoyed your recent reports, especially those of the flood plains of the Cornwallis. The number of pintails you saw was awesome. Even in Canard pond we don't see that many pintail. Must have been a sight to remember.
