Greetings, all.

Orioles that I've had overwinter in the past have typically begun to =
leave by mid--March (about 1 in 3 of those that have overwintered), =
while the rest have stayed to the last week of April.

This year, perhaps because the 7 I've had for the winter constitute a =
more comfortable-sized flock, none has left to this point. Every =
morning I expect to find one or more gone, but every morning all 7 have =
shown up for the day's mealworms.

My goals are to provide the best support possible for as long as they =
need it, and to set them up in good condition for migration and a =
possible period of deprivation when they leave. So mealworms, peanut =
butter suet, grapes and grape jelly continue to be on offer here.

Cheers,
Susann

We had an Oriole show up here (Front Centre Lun. Co.) on Sunday April =
1st. It=E2=80=99s been back every day since that eating mostly from a =
suet log and a few grapes that I started supplying yesterday. At least =
one Fox Sparrow and several Tree Sparrows are still coming as well.

Yesterday (April 4, 2012) Ann Doull saw a Baltimore oriole in her =
yard, thanks to her neighbour who continues to alert her of any =
interesting birds. Last week, a cardinal popped up but briefly. Her =
male and female Red bellied woodpeckers still come to her feeders while =
not foraging in the woods. Lots of oak trees. They come a few times a =
day.=20

  Cheers
  Liz
