Hi, Ken.

My Baltimore Orioles have also started singing in the past few days. =
All 7 have stayed so far, and the males are getting their awkward patchy =
look as they begin to develop their black hoods.

It's always fun at this time of year to hear the starlings around my =
yard begin to practice oriole songs, to use in their repertoires.

Cheers,
Susann

  Hi all
There were 5 Double-crested Cormorants at the Pictou Causeway today, =
Mar 29, seen by 3 separate observers (Steve Vines, Charlie Kendell and =
myself) and I also saw another at Pier B in Pictou. This is the first =
day back for these this spring.=20
Elwin Hemphill called to let me know the Baltimore Oriole at his =
neighbour's house in Pictou has started to sing the last couple of days. =
The O'Briens have successfully got it through winter.=20
Yesterday there were 500 Red-breasted Mergansers in the East River of =
Pictou as seen from the parking meter plant in Abercrombie. I also =
located a flock of 250 Greater Scaup in the West River of Pictou in =
Lyons Brook. Duck numbers were low this winter in Pictou Co.=20
  cheers
  Ken
