I was on the Mines Road / Butler Road in Hants Co. today. (The far
west end in Kings Co. is not passable without 4-wheel drive, yet, &
the rest is at your own risk).

I saw 2 Mourning Cloak butterflies, a Goshawk & a pair of Gray Jays.
One jay was carrying something large & yellowish. They were very
secretive. Brown Creepers & Golden-crowned Kinglets were singing.
About 5 "woods" Robins were already on territory (I presume).

Painted Turtles were sunning themselves on a sheltered arm of Black
River Lake. These observations were all in the area of "Duck Pond
Road", between the Duck Pond & Black River Lake.
