During my rapid survey of some Valley-area birding locations this morning, the only highlights were a very big first-winter Glaucous Gull among the scrum of thousands along Fred Thomas Road in the Upper Canard area and a fine male Eurasian Wigeon in one of the Windsor sewage ponds. Both looked particularly good in the summer sunshine. Eric L. Mills 286 Kingsburg Road, RR#1, Rose Bay, NS B0J 2X) Canada e.mills@dal.ca
