Hi all,

For the past hour (as of 12:30PM) there's been a Barred Owl roosting =
just off a path in Pt Pleasant Park. Directions:

Park at the Tower Road entrance, walk down the main drive (Cambridge =
Drive), take your second right (Serpentine). There are two big mossy =
stumps against the right side of the path before the first bench on your =
right. You'll see a (vague) path into the woods behind the stump that's =
closest to the bench. Walk slowly in, looking up. The owl is about 10m =
in, only about 4m high.

It's so low that it could easily spook, so maybe go in by ones. Though =
it was quite calm; I was able to walk right underneath it, and get great =
pics from the hill behind it. Of course, listen for crows and jays, in =
case it moved.

Cheers,
Andy Horn
Halifax=
