I know when the Kews ( Atlantic Raptor Rehab, now retired) were rehabbing they used silver bands as I still have the box with their old bands in it ( they passed their bands and last patient on to me when they retired). We rehabilitated an eagle last year ( broken leg, repaired it with a pin and released it, in 2011 calendar if anyone wants to check). It was banded when we got it and the band return showed that the bird was 16 years old and was banded as a chick in PEI. Hope someone can see the number eventually, nice to get that info :) Helene On Mon, Jan 9, 2012 at 4:22 PM, Ken McKenna <kenmcken@eastlink.ca> wrote: > ** > > Ken McKenna > Box 218 Stellarton NS > B0K 1S0 > 902 752-7644 > Hi Kathleen > It was a standard silver band. > > Ken > > ----- Original Message ----- > > *From:* Kathleen MacAulay <roughlegged_hawk@yahoo.ca> > *To:* naturens@chebucto.ns.ca > *Sent:* Monday, January 09, 2012 3:28 PM > *Subject:* Re: [NatureNS] Banded Bald Eagle - Bayview, Pictou Co. > > At CWRC, we band all our eagles that get released.
