With regard to the Raven / Wolf / Human interactions, I'm not convinced we have to look for co-evolution or genetic consolidation of that behaviour, for the Ravens. The genetic base for this behaviour is the very high level of intelligence in the corvids (Ravens & Crows even more so) and the high level of social interaction. No doubt these are both genetically fixed but intelligent / successful behaviour will be passed on reliably generation after generation simply be social learning. I don't see any need for specific behaviour to become fixed. With birds ("animals") as smart as these, behavioural plasticity is more likely to be genetically selected. "Whatever works". Rick Whitman
