--0015175d03a63532e904b4184479 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=windows-1252 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, I replied in some detail to Graham, privately, the other day. However, some comments about the observations below - I have been to East Grand Pre twice in the last 2 days to look for the Snowy owl - unfortunately no sign of it, including scoping Boot Island. A thorough scouring of the mud fields and the dykes revealed NO Snow buntings, Horned larks, Longspurs, Rough-legged hawks or Short-eared owls. Perhaps they'll all show up for the Xmas Count on Saturday! An interesting sideline there this afternoon was a large Coyote running along the top of the dyke parallel to my car for some distance, but as soon as I aimed my camera, it disappeared into a ditch. I hope it didn't eat the owl! On another note (literally) I reported a Great Horned owl near our home N. of Kentville on Dec.1. Since then, Liz and/ or I have both heard and seen it again , including calling at around 9pm yesterday. I'm going to explore the woodlot from which I think it was calling in more detail. As I also mentioned to Graham, the last 2 visits I made to Port George revealed no Harlequin Ducks. Perhaps they'll also show up soon.
