Took a ramble with 'Dash, in my neighbourhood around noon today, before I head into work for the evening. I usually always take my binoculars but for some reason I didn't today. Wish I had!

I was entertained 1st of all by an aerial display of 'murmurtion' by a large flock of (assuming) starlings above the Breamar Superstore. Quite a show as they wheeled around, up and down like waves! As we headed into the park of Grahams Grove I saw 5 male Hooded Mergansers bobbing around and flapping their wings out on Lake Banook. I then caught sight of a Crow (or Raven) harassing a hawk-like bird way up in the air. The hawk-like bird had the outline shape of an Accipiter and about half the size of the Crow/Raven and gray in colour. And finally, saw the American Coot as it seems to be now making its home in amongst the cattails near the bridge that separates Lake Banook and Lake MicMac. Not sure if it is the same one that had been at Sullivan's Pond but has been in this location for over a week now. I see it daily on my walk around the lake.

Cheers!
