The data will also be shared with Environment Canada to help inform their management of the Port Joli, Sable River, and Port l'Hebert Migratory Bird Sanctuaries. Last year we observed 12 species of diving and dabbling waterfowl and many other interesting birds. *Who's organizing?* Bird Studies Canada and Nature Conservancy Canada in partnership with the Harrison Lewis Centre. * What's involved?** * Beginners and families are welcome! We'll start with a short waterfowl identification workshop and we'll have a few experienced observers to help, so no experience necessary. There will be a mix of driving and walking to reach different waterfowl observations sites. Picnic lunch will be provided by Nature Conservancy Canada. Bring binoculars or spotting scopes if you have them, but we'll have some optics to share. *How do I sign up?* Please visit Nature Conservancy Canada's volunteer site ( http://www.natureconservancy.ca/site/Calendar/1362459678?view=Detail&id=100682) OR contact me (Sue Abbott) at 426-4055 or nsplovers@gmail.com.
