OCT. 27, 2011 - On my drive in late afternoon to the NSBS meeting at
Tuma et al.'s talk on birds of Texas, I had to stop at Curry's Corner
(east end of Chester Rd., hwy. 14, at Windsor). At the small church
there I met Kevin Lantz and his son from Lunenburg. Together we
looked in the usual field not far from the church parking lot at
about 200 Canada geese. That was at 5:30 p.m., and then, having not
seen the pink-footed goose nor the snow goose, we drove over to
College Road. There were a lot of Canada geese visible from the area
south from the retirement home, but there were many ups and downs and
hollows in the fields plus some fields of grain or corn or tall
grass. Thus many geese were not viewable. We did not see the snow
goose, but Kevin quickly found the pink-footed goose and got at least
one recognizable photo that he showed me. By that time it was nearly
6 p.m., and I departed for Halifax.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.
