Jim Taylor and I birded Hartlens Pt this morning. Although there was a flock of chickadees with accompanying warblers and vireos, none of the rarities were seen. We did see Orange-crowned, Nashville, Magnolia, Black and White and Black-throated Green Warblers as well as Philadelphia and Red-eyed Vireos. I was able to get a photo of a Yellow-billed Cuckoo. Near the transmission tower we had 16 Great Blue Herons circling around above us. They were probably trying to decide if they should attempt flying south today. I went over to Chebucto Head and Sandy Cove in the afternoon. It was very quiet there. I did see a cuckoo perched which could have been a Black-billed Cuckoo. There was very little white on the underside of the tail. Don Don MacNeill donmacneill@eastlink.ca
