Hi all
I birded Big I. today. It started of reasonably fine for a couple of hours, but then a number of heavy rain showers but with some clearing at times.
Here are my highlights with my more complete ebird submission below this:
A lone Snow Goose with a large flock of 400+ Canada Geese, 9 Northern Pintail, 1 Hudsonian Godwit viewed for 5 min.at east cornor of the causeway and photographed before the rising tide pushed it to some high tide roost, 9 American Golden Plover, and an Eastern Phoebe along Mason lane. Ann and Liz Doull were able to see the Snow Goose as well, a lifer for Ann and a nice end to her 2011 Big I. list as she is ending her summer stay tomorrow.
cheers
Ken
