--=====================_110455640==.ALT Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"; format=flowed Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable From the Nature Moncton Info Line, courtesy of Nelson Poirier: ** THIS WEEK'S SKY AT A GLANCE By 11 p.m. the BIG DIPPER has swung around to lie=20 level low in the north-northwest. On Tuesday, Sept. 20, the MOON [Lune] will go=20 into its Last Quarter Phase meaning it will rise at midnight and set at= noon. On Friday, Sept. 23, the September equinox occurs=20 at 6:04 a.m., when the SUN crosses the equator=20 heading south. Fall begins in the Northern=20 Hemisphere, spring in the Southern Hemisphere. On Saturday, September 17 SUNRISE was at 7:07 and=20 SUNSET is at 19:35. On Saturday, September 24=20 sunrise will be at 7:16 and sunset will be at 19:21. This Week's Planet Roundup: MERCURY [Mercure] (about magnitude +1.5) is=20 sinking down deep into the glow of sunrise. Early=20 in the week you can try looking for it low in the=20 east about 30 minutes before sunup. Binoculars=20 help. Don't confuse it with the twinkly star Regulus, well to its upper= right. VENUS [V=E9nus] (magnitude -3.9) "may be" viewable=20 in binoculars just above the horizon due west a=20 mere 15 minutes after sunset. It will move much higher in the coming months. MARS (magnitude +1.3) rises around 3 a.m. By the=20 beginning of dawn it's in good view high in the east. JUPITER (magnitude -2.8) rises in the=20 east-northeast around the end of twilight. SATURN [Saturne] (magnitude +0.9) is disappearing for the season.
