Other spp seen at high tide right at the Point were Semipalmated Sandpipers (1000 ?), White-rumped Sandpipers (10+), Least Sandpipers (several dozen), Sanderlings (10), Semipalmated Plover (dozen) & Ruddy Turnstone (3). Three Peregrines were annoying the shorebirds at times; it wasn't clear to me that they really tried to catch any. On Sept 12, Hartlen Point at low tide there were very few shorebirds. Ruddy Turnstone (8) were on the kelp. One flock of 8 Golden Plover flew in & melted into the stones on one of the little reefs that projects out from shore on the W side of the Point. Four were bright golden. Photos were sent to R Stern. At McCormacks Beach at low tide, there was a good mix of common shorebirds. One appeared to be my first Dunlin for this year but was quite far out.
