On Sunday, Sept. 11, the MOON will go into its=20 Full Phase meaning we will see it all night to=20 make for bright nights. Expect higher high tides=20 and lower low tides which may be significant for=20 shorebird observations. This moon is sometimes referred to as the Harvest= Moon. . By 11 p.m. to midnight, the BIG DIPPER has swung=20 around to lay level low in the north-northwest. On Saturday morning, September 10 the SUN will=20 rise at 6:55 a.m. and will set at 19:44. On Saturday morning, September 17 the SUN will=20 rise at 7:05 a.m. and set at 19:31. This Week's Planet Roundup MERCURY, bright at about magnitude =961.0, is=20 dropping down from a good dawn apparition. Look=20 for it low in the east about 45 minutes before sunrise. VENUS is hidden deep in the glow of sunset. MARS (magnitude +1.4) rises around 3 a.m. By the=20 beginning of dawn it's in good view well up in the east. JUPITER (magnitude =962.7) rises in the=20 east-northeast around 10 p.m. Using a birding=20 scope, it should not be difficult to see some of Jupiter=92s moons. SATURN (magnitude +0.9) is disappearing for the season.
