Salt Marsh Trail, Cole Harbour, NS On a walk down the Salt Marsh Trail in Cole Harbour yesterday I found a *Merlin*, 2 mature *Bald Eagles* and an *Osprey* all perched close to the trail just before the first bridge. The birds were not all present at the same time - they appeared individually within a 30 minute window. I guess it is a popular spot for them to sit and watch the walkers. There were also a couple of hundred *Semi-palmated Sandpipers*, maybe a dozen*Black-bellied Plovers* and upwards of 50 *Lesser Yellow-leg Sandpipers* dispersed in the tidal pools between the first and third bridges - it was low tide. I posted some pictures at http://scranlocker.smugmug.com/Nature/2011-Birds/15878194_kQxV2r Paul Murray Dartmouth --------------090708020206090804090904 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit

Aug 27, 2011
14:00 hrs.
Salt Marsh Trail, Cole Harbour, NS

On a walk down the Salt Marsh Trail in Cole Harbour yesterday I found a Merlin, 2 mature Bald Eagles and an Osprey all perched close to the trail just before the first bridge.
