About a week ago the male hummingbird coming to our feeders did the
courtship trick (swinging back & forth in a wide arc). I didn't see if
there was a female present but considered it very odd for this time of
year. This morning at a neighbour's, I watched a male doing the same thing
with a female in attendance. Then they flew off together...one returned
briefly but i couldn't tell which one. It's remarkable how exact the arc
is, reaching the same height as it started each time.

In respect to males, the majority are usually gone by mid-August. It would
be interesting to hear who still has males attending their feeders.
