If the identification is correct, indeed it is a wild orchid in the  
Orchidaceae.  And "s. cernua" should be written with a capital S.,  
which stands for Spiranthes, I think, and the whole name should be  
written out in full and not abbreviated until after it is written out  
one.  Also for good measure, the Latinized name should be italicized,  
which I know is asking way too much!  The name "Spiranthes" is  
wonderfully descriptive, denoting flowers arranged in spiral lines  
down the flower-stalk.
