Index of Subjects This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --Boundary_(ID_ZQXDa6/gORRNyzZYghziMw) Content-type: text/plain; CHARSET=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT We noted a family (?) group of 4 on Thursday July 28 at about 8:30 PM as we completed our hike into Susies Lake at the southern end of the Blue Mountain - Birch Cove Lakes Wilderness Area. Several times we have seen them in the vicinity of Blue Mountain so I'm pretty sure that they breed nearby. The next evening as I walked into our Clayton Park driveway around 9:15 PM, a medium sized bird took off (from the ground?) buzzed about, took off down the street flying quite low and then disappeared. The wings were very long (around 15 inches), pointed and very narrow. I did not see any white patches below or above. Not sure what it was but Common Nighthawk came immediately to mind. I have never seen one fly so low so this sighting may remain a mystery...
