JULY 17, 2011 - Pat & I did a long walk on this hot, humid day, north
on Cherry Lane in Wolfville and out onto the dykelands road and then
main dyke path and made a big circle back to Wolfville Harbour.
Along the way we saw only about 6 cabbage white butterflies and no
other species except a single skipper sp.

Perennial sow thistles were abundant and in bloom along the main
dyke, and a few plants were infested with colonies of aphids. Thus
it was no surprise to see several lady beetles, but of only two
kinds, both alien species: I saw 6+ multi-spotted Asian lady beetles,
and 2+ seven-spotted lady beetles.

Other plants in bloom were alfalfa, lady's thumb, Queen Anne's lace,
etc.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville
