Index of Subjects In my experience, 25 cm. is a good, but not enormous size for a red-bellied snake. They are very common down our way, but are small and secretive, so most people don't see them often. -----Original Message----- From: naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca [mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca] On Behalf Of bdigout@seaside.ns.ca Sent: July-12-11 1:23 PM To: naturens@chebucto.ns.ca Subject: [NatureNS] red-bellied snake I saw my first red-bellied snake today in Oban, Richmond Co. in a pile of firewood. It was about 25 cm. in length, not much bigger around than a pencil. Is this a small one, or is it average? Billy
