ALl, For the past couple of weeks, I have been making a few narrow footpaths through my acreage at Round Hill. Before pushing my way through the jungle-like vegetation, I do some reconnaissance looking for uncommon plants that I would not wish to disturb. This morning, while crossing a narrow boggy spot that seems to be created by springs or some kind of seep, I came upon a few Jack-in-the-Pulpit (Arisaema triphyllum). Now, these may not be unusual by Nova Scotia standards, but I can't say I have seen their like in Ontario. These were very tall and robust. I guesstimated the height of one to be about 100 cm. tall and walked back to the house to get a measuring tape to be sure. Indeed, it was about 100 cm. tall. Here is a photo of the plant and measuring tape for anyone who might be interested. Hope the link works. http://bevwigney.zenfolio.com/img/v18/p464484040.jpg Bev Wigney Round Hill (in summer)
