How many of you noticed this historical gem in yesterday's Herald?: Chronicle Herald, Tues., June 21, 2011 DATA FILE -- TODAY IN HISTORY In 1948 the world's first modern computer -- which used cathode-ray tubes -- worked successfully for the first time at the University of Manchester in England.
