Further to the Thextons obsservation of the young ones being brought to their feeder by the male, I am hearing the local cardinal "sing?/whistle" again, as though there is a second attempt at nesting in this area once more. He has been quiet for about three weeks at least. Jake MacDonald ( near Kenny's Fruit and Vegetable Farm) has often seen the young at his feeders accompanied by the male over the years. He suspects there may even be as many as three nestings per spring/summer, as he has seen that many different groups brought to the feeders in a staggered progression.
