All: I think I should have reported - for those who keep track - a few sightings by daughter Mary and me at Hartlen Pt., HRM, on nominal Victoria Day, 23 May. Among 7 warbler species, all reported earlier, was a singing Chestnut-sided - not sure if it had been noted earlier (with withdrawal of an April report). There is a pair of Great Horned Owls nesting in the area - pointed out by golfers, but exact site best not publicized. A notable dearth of hares - usually one to several - may be a result. The most interesting bird was a female-plumaged Common Redpoll nibbling at old birch seeds - late, but not nearly record so.
