My neighbour and I saw a couple of Chimney Swifts over our houses in
Springhill last summer, and saw them quite often but there only
appeared to be a couple of them. This year, they are back, but there
are at least four that I've seen all at the same time, over our houses
again. I don't know where there is a vacant chimney in town but I
know there are some abandoned houses. We'll have to investigate
further and try to find out where they are roosting. There is a
colony in Oxford as well, that roost in the old foundry chimney.
We've spoken to some people who live across from it and they say the
swifts are there this year. Not sure of the numbers.

Cheers,
Cindy Creighton
