Hi all
With a few preliminary reports from spring migration count in Pictou Co., here are a few of the highlights- just over 110 species
Pomarine Jaeger along the road at Melmerby PP- Charlie Kendell
Lesser Black-backed Gull- adult Waterside PP- Ken McKenna
Virginia Rail - Lorne Station Marsh- Steve Vines
Least Sandpiper- 3 Lower Barneys River Steve Vines
1 Cape John - Ken McKenna
Bonaparte's Gulls- 10 Lyons Brook Steve Vines
Rusty Blackbird- 2 Blanchard- Kit and Karen MacLeod
Iceland Gull- 2 Pier C, Pictou Ken McKenna
                        1 Lismore Steve Vines
Red-necked Grebe- 2 Lyons Brook Ken McKenna (locally uncommon in spring but 6 at Melmerby May 15)
Common Tern- 19 Lyons Brook Steve Vines 75 East River (Ballast I.-Rick Ferguson)

There were 13 species of Warbler including single Chestnut-sided and Redstart by Steve, Magnolia, and Yellow for me and both Steve and I had single Black-throated Blues.
My own tally for warblers include 16 Nashville, 32 Parula, 56 Myrtle, 7 Black-throated Green, 10 Palm, 28 Black and White, 32 Ovenbird, and 25 Northern Waterthrush. Rick Ferguson had 2 RB Grosbeaks and Eastern Kingbird. Charlie and Steve had Least Flycatchers. I had a single Veery.
There were only a couple RT Hummingbirds. Liz Doull noted a cluster of 16 Chimney Swifts at the Temperance St. school, but did not stay to observe them fly into the chimney for the night and she felt the numbers were higher- (note 119 Sunday).
