We then used Blackleaf 40 - a concoction made by soaking = tobacco leaves in water. The Bordeaux mixture was then used to prevent late= blight. Very effective as a spray I might add but tended to plug the spray= nozzles so spraying was a slow process. By omitting the lime, the copper s= ulfate alone killed the tops so was effective against late blight that rott= ed the tubers.
