Index of Subjects The first of the week I had a cardinal singing loud and clear every morning. I could not see it, but it showed up later in the week. Yesterday a female showed up two or three times at the mirror in my car, and finally the male appeared and chased the female away. Since then I have seen the male at the mirror two or three times. Should I cover the mirror when it is not in use? Is there any danger to the two birds? Since my cat was killed in a fight with something I have had a lot more birds at the feeders. Juncos - ground feeders have increased. One redpole has appeared Sparrows are more plentiful - especially a couple of song sparrows. I have a good group of goldfinch that have been here all winter, along with the usual chicadees. An osprey was seen down at the shore. One evening grosbeak paid a visit A pair of mourning doves are usually there - they seem like good friends. Roland (Barrington)
