Hi Marilyn=2C

Please do report even if you have not had time to count/record individual b=
irds of each species. I understand Jim's request for numbers since Rusty B=
lackbird is not a common species. But for me=2C receiving reports of birds=
seen on your outings is interesting regardless of whether or not you recor=
ded numbers. So please keep them coming! When we hesitate to report becau=
se we are afraid someone else thinks "we are not doing it right" then we al=
l risk missing out on sharing some great sightings. I had been thinking ab=
out visiting Oakfield Park in the upcoming days so I really appreciated kno=
wing what you saw there. Thanks!

Yes=2C I do apologize for not having the proper numbers for each type of bi=
rd I spotted at Oakfiled Park. I was there in more of the photographer cap=
acity and therefore did not get a chance to get accurate counts. I meant m=
y post to be more of a "casual" report to just let people know what birds w=
ere in the area. I didn't know that postings to this news group had such s=
trict scientific requirements. =20

Have a nice day=2CMarilyn Ewer

And=2C of course=2C all lists of birds that include estimates of numbers se=
en for each species are much more inherently useful and interesting.

Cheers from Jim in Wolfville.

Hi All=2C Well I took a drive to Oakfield Park today. On the way there=
=2C in Waverley at the end of the Cobequid Rd.=2C I spotted a Pileated Wood=
pecker flying across the road. Upon my arrival at Oakfied I heard then saw=
another Pileated WP in the large=2C old tree in the field just off the roa=
d by the entrance where everyone parks. In this same area there were also =
at least 6 Mourning Doves=2C numerous Red-winged blackbirds=2C Rusty blackb=
irds=2C song sparrows=2C BC chickadees=2C and juncos. Looking over to the =
lake there were a few Canada geese as well. Also heard in the distance a B=
arred Owl call a couple of times. Have to say this was the most bird activ=
ity I have seen in Oakfield Park. I believe with so many people walking th=
eir dogs there it may scare off some birds. But today I was lucky and ther=
e were no dogs while I was there.=20
