Today I spent 2 1/2 hours watching these 3 beaver& muskrat in a much better location. I wanted to get the muskrat tail in the image too, to better show that it's truly a muskrat for ID purposes and not a small beaver but it didn't happen. I did get the tail in another image but not showing the body of the muskrat as well. The small beaver in front would be a pup from 2010, no beavers have pups as small as a muskrat this time of year. Pretty neat how the beavers allow the muskrat to be so close. I have heard that beavers will allow muskrats to live in their den, this one is definitely part of the family.
