7 March 2011

Johnny Nickerson, on Cape Sable Island (CSI), has asked me to forward
the following Shelburne County sightings.

5 March - an adult Ivory Gull was observed by Syd and Betty-June
Smith off Baccaro Point. The gull was being harassed by two Great
Black-backed Gulls, and was last seen as it flew along the west shore
of the peninsula.

Other recent CSI sightings by Johnny and Sandra: 2 Redhead and 1 male
Eurasian Wigeon.

Signs of spring: 1700 Brant, 20 Green-winged Teal, 7 Northern
Pintail, many Snow Buntings and Horned Larks, 7 Killdeer.
