Hi all
Rick Ferguson and I spent some time on Sober I. on Sat. Mar. 5. it was a bit breezy and tide high and falling and not as productive for birding as last week, We did locate a few Harlequin, lifers for Rick, but they were a little fauther offshore than one would like, but still easily recognizable. There were only 7 Purple Sandpipers,
but the tide was likely not low enough to exposed enough feeding area for the whole group.
On the walk out along the SW shoreline, we saw and photographed a dead THICK-BILLED MURRE which looked like the breast was freshly consumed by a predator. Below are results submitted to Ebird Canada.
