As I walked under a large tree, I caught a glimpse of something moving in t= he branches. Glancing up I was totally surprised to see a Northern Saw Whet= Owl staring down. First time I have ever seen one! Unfortunately, at almos= t the same time,=A0a loose dog, intent on causing trouble,=A0took a run at = my dog, creating abit of a kerfuffle, causing the little owl to take flight= . As for the dog, it was easily distracted by me throwing some dog treats i= n the opposite direction & it's owner calling it back. The Red Squirrels are having lots of chase games going=A0on. '''Tis the sea= son', I guess! =A0Interestingly, I observed an unusual occurrence during on= e of these chase episodes.
